Bring Eden Home

You guys!!! We are so excited about this announcement and story. Here at The Archibald Project we desire to cultivate a community of people all over the world sharing their stories of orphan care. Like DIY, home decor and wedding blogs, we envision TAP being a hub for all different kinds of stories that YOU submit! How do you submit a story?! Super easy. No really, it’s so easy it will shock you :) Right up in our menu, 4th title from the left it says “Submit A Story” just give your mouse a little click on that guy and follow the guidelines! Super easy :) Now for the really exciting story!

A few weeks ago we received an email from a wedding photographer in Mississippi sharing that he and his lovely wife were about the head to India to pick up their baby girl. We’ve been learning about India recently and as soon as we read about their story we knew we wanted to share it with you all. Only catch? We’re moving to Uganda in less than a month and don’t have time to squeeze in a week trip to India :)

After talking things over we decided we still wanted to share the Followell’s story. It has grace and beauty and Jesus written all over it. So today at 9pm Robby and Jess will board a plane to Calcutta AND take over The Archibald Project’s Instagram and Facebook so you can follow their inspiring journey!

The Followells have been in the process of adopting for the past 3 years. Around the time their bio daughter hit 5 months the two young parents saw a documentary called, It’s A Girl.

“In India, China and many other parts of the world today, girls are killed, aborted and abandoned simply because they are girls. The United Nations estimates as many as 200 million girls are missing in the world today because of this so-called “gendercide”.

After learning how baby girls are often treated in India the couple felt compelled to research more and find out how they could help. Now, 3 years into the process they believe that many in India are fighting against this injustice and are proud to walk alongside the Indian people in this fight.

During the past 3 years Robby and Jess have walked through many seasons of trial and thanksgiving and have seen the Lord provide time after time. From $4000 cash randomly showing up in their mailbox to their community coming together and raising $14,000 in one night for their adoption. When you step out in faith you don’t always have peace and confirmation until you take the first step. After the Followells began following their calling of adoption they have seen God provide every step of the way!

We are so excited to see Robby and Jess unite with their daughter in a few days and share an intimate and beautiful part of their journey with you all. To follow along in realtime, please follow @thearchibaldproject on Instagram and “like” us on Facebook!

More to come soon!
