Media Mission - Meet Rebecca!

Good afternoon lovelies! We'd like to steal a moment of your time to introduce you to the fabulous North Carolina photographer, Rebecca Schlieman! Meet Rebecca :)

Hey there friends!

I'm Rebecca.  I'm so excited to be joining the Media Mission Team!

So, a little about me and my family… My husband, Joel, and I got married 6.5 years ago, and we live in North Carolina with our two beautiful, energetic, and sometimes crazy daughters - Clara who is 3, and Lucy who is 10 months old.  Joel just graduated from law school in May, and is studying to take the BAR exam at the end of February, right before this trip.

I'm an engineer-turned-photographer (crazy, I know).  I have a mechanical engineering degree, but switched careers to pursue photography about 7 years ago.  I've worked for Millie Holloman Photography for 6 years now, shooting mostly weddings and some families.

The summer after we got married, Joel and I went on a mission trip to India.  A lot of our time there was spent loving on the kids in the orphanage.  God used that trip in a lot of different ways in my life, and the images I took there are still some of my favorites.  I've been looking and praying for another opportunity to go on a trip like that ever since.  Being a wedding photographer is a really fun job and I love it, but I also want to be doing something to use my art to help people who need it.

Enter, The Archibald Project.

I heard about the Media Mission Trip from a friend who saw the ad and thought of me.  We've talked many times about this very type of trip and how badly I wanted to find one to go one.  We know lots of friends who have adopted or are in the process, and I just love seeing families bring their new kiddos home.  When I read about the trip, I just knew I had to apply.  I'm still amazed that with all the incredible applicants they had, I was one of the people chosen to go!

I am so thrilled to be a part of this team, and I can't wait to experience Africa with them!  Thanks for following along with us!
