We can’t begin to express how humbled and excited we are as we look back over our time at the Together for Adoption conference. We arrived in Louisville, KY last Thursday unsure of what was ahead but clung to our call that we were meant to be there. We had never been to an adoption conference, in fact, we had never been to any conference. The closest we’d been to a conference was episode 2 in season 3 of The Office when Michael and Dwight visit a paper convention. That seemed like enough preparation, right? ;)We began setting up our Expo booth and started meeting so many wonderful people who all share the same heart and passion for helping orphans. I didn’t realize so many organizations existed to advocate for justice for the fatherless. A large number of them have been around for 10+ years. We’ll share more about our new friends over the next week, so make sure you check back! We teamed up with the founders of T4A to produce two videos about special needs adoption, and we were beyond privileged to share both videos at the conference this past weekend. To capture these stories we traveled to Ohio and Houston and spent time with two families facing the realities of raising adopted children with specific special needs. We’ve been so excited to share these films with you, but we needed to wait until they had debuted at the conference. We hope that you’ll be as inspired as we are by these families and their journeys. Remember that when considering special needs adoption, “The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.” Psalm 29:11. God is our strength, you are not on this journey alone!
